Conference of Development& Management of New Cities in 6th of October City 16 :21 March 2008 § In the framework of instructions of Minister of Housing, Utilities&Urban Development by following the most recent scientific and practical methodologies, an agreement was concluded with International Metropolis Institute for training and raising the efficiencies and capacities of top officials in the new cities. § * The week long training course was tailored for forty top officials in the new cities by international experts for acquisition of the European countries experience in the field of city development and management. The course was held at 6th of October City during16:21/3/2008. Findings& Recommendations : § Study of strategic plans of the cities and their periodical modifications. § Necessity for decentralization in city management § Private sector participation in management by conclusion of fixed time contracts with private companies and their follow up by the City Council § Enhancement of the role of the government authority controlled private developer. § City Council interaction with individuals and development of periodical questionnaire for performance of services. § Provision of various services and periodical maintenance works. § Beautification of cities so as to be population attractive centers by open areas and parks. § Development of roads and transport networks.
