Goals :-

-         Introduction of local& international experiences.

-         Exchange of experiences, conclusion of their deliverables and acquired lessons.

-         Provision of dialogue platform for reaching innovative solutions of problems and determination of priorities.

 Recommendations :-

Along 8 sessions, the following issues were discussed :-

-         Continuous evaluation of existing condition in NUC's development.

-         Development opportunities and obstacles.

-         Proposed development mechanisms

The following significant recommendations were concluded .

* Continuous evaluation and exchange of experiences in new and old new urban communities and outlining points of strength and weakness. In this context, The Ministry exclusive assessment of its accomplishments during the last 30 years for getting out of the narrow valley, opening new horizons and construction of 22 new cities as a unique civilized and political breakthrough was paid high tribute throughout the conference.

In the Context of the Development of new Cities:

1.     Well geographic and regional planning of the new cities and wide scale control of urbanism (in the form of city cluster).

2.     Planning of a new city not as an individual but integrated one.

3.     Integration between old and new cities and homogeneity of their respective urban fiber.

4.     Merging greater number of short and long term plans, highlighting of  the social dimension and balance of housing categories

5.     Homogenous restructuring of new cities in terms of the accelerated changes in (Function-Volume-Activities-Economic Base……)

6.     Continuous monitoring of the strategic planning phases by an administrative and technical entity. This may help in the early detection of any implementation obstacles, problems, points of weakness/ strength for path adjustment /plan updating
