Definition of New Urban Communities Authority
New Urban Communities Authority was established according to law
59/1979
Objective
Creation of new civilized centers for achieving community stability
and economic prosperity . Redistribution of inhabitants far from the
narrow stripe of the Nile valley .
Development of new attraction areas beyond the existing cities and
villages .
Extension of urban spines to the desert and remote areas.
Curbing the urban infringement upon agricultural areas
Achieving the goals of urban
development strategy
New cities planning and development
was based upon the latest planning techniques
Land sale rates were for the actual cost of basic utilities so as to
be a nucleus for investment attraction .Various privileges were
granted for the investor ( custom & tax exemption ) .
NUCA's primary goal was the provision of housing units for low
income segments healthy , appropriate and in good environment ,
convenient for his economic and community conditions ( Mobarak and
Future Housing Projects ).
For subsidizing low income people,NUCa launched various housing
projects in compliance with different conditions and facilities.
For realizing the urban development strategy goals , the Ministry
prepared the development map of ARE till 2017 ,where the optimum
locations were highlighted for the development of the new urban
communities and their priorities through new development spines ,
where number of new communities (44urban agglomerations) are to be
established with diverse economic bases according to the physical
and economic capabilities of each respective area ,where job
opportunities are generated .
The new cities are divided into
three generations prioritized by their establishment dates :-
First Generation cities : 10th of
Ramadan -15th of May -6th of October Sadat New Borg El Arab
New Salhiya- New Damietta .
Second Generation cities : Bader Obour New Ban Sweif New Minya-New
Nubaryia Sheikh Zaied
Third Generation : Shrouk New Cairo-New Assuit New Tiba New
Sohag New Aswan New Kena-New Fayoum New Akhmeim . .
